Healthy Treats For Your Little One

Since summer is around the corner and the weather is warming up I started making Jade homemade popsicles because who doesn’t love a popsicle on a hot day am I right?

I never liked buying popsicles for Jade at the grocery store because

  1. There full of sugar
  2. There way cheaper to make yourself
  3. Homemade is always best

That’s why I figured id give it a shot and see if she liked them. My mom had bought me a cute unicorn head shaped popsicle mold from Winners for my birthday for Jade (typical) and one morning while I was making my smoothie I had extra left over and put it in the popsicle mold, froze it and gave it to Jade later on and she loved it. I started making extras of my smoothies to make popsicles for her and trying out different recipes finding what she likes and dislikes and luckily shes loved them all so far.

Favorite Recipes:

Note: I use a mix of fresh + frozen fruit it is totally up to you what you want to use. I use frozen chunks of spinach from Walmart because I find that spinach goes bad too fast. These measurements are based on the smoothies I have in the morning which fills a glass full and 5 popsicles. I also keep 1/2 cup of water near me while I mix this in the blender to add gradually to make it less dense and easier to blend.

Berry Blast:

  • 1/4 cup of raspberries
  • 1/4 cup of blueberries
  • 1/4 cup of blackberries
  • 3 large strawberries
  • 2 large chunks of spinach
  • 1/4 cup of Vanilla Yogurt

(This one is seedy so save this one for kids over 1)

Little Monkey:

  • 2 bananas
  • 3 large strawberries
  • 1 TBS of peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup of yogurt or for a treat 1 scoop of chocolate frozen yogurt

Fruit Mania:

  • 1/4 cup of mango
  • 1/4 cup of pineapple
  • 4 large strawberries
  • 2 large chunks of spinach
  • 1/4 cup of vanilla yogurt

Classic S+B:

  • 2 bananas
  • 6 strawberries
  • 2 chunks of spinach
  • 1/4 vanilla yogurt

Mango Twirl:

  • 1/4 cup of mangos
  • 4 strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of raspberries
  • 2 chunks of spinach
  • 1/4 vanilla yogurt

I adore these blends of fruit but it’s totally up to you whether you want to add more or less of anything or turn these into vegan popsicles by eliminating the yogurt.  These are my favorite things for Jadey there the perfect treat for toddlers, they taste great, are healthy and the chill helps with teething, what could be better than that?
